I got a commission to do a head shot for an author who is having a book published in the near future. I was happy to hear he went against his publisher's advice to, "Just have your wife take a picture". It isn't that she would do a bad job, but when a business (A Publisher) takes photography so lightly, I get concerned. Frankly, I would not think so highly of a business that takes photography so lightly, but it seems to be the trend.
I'm thinking we are living in the era of, Good Enough... Lets not take the time to put out the best we can, but just make it Good Enough and put it out there as soon as possible. One would think that within the speed and accuracy of the digital age, we would be able to create some of our greatest work in a relatively shorter amount of time. But in this age, we will never be fast enough.

That's right! We should NEVER settle for good enough no matter what you're talking about but especially photography!
Sadly this is the digital age for you. Quality is becoming a thing of the past. I found your blog through the LF Forum and I like what I see. Its good you're moving back to 4x5, it'll increase the quality of your work through the methodical nature of using such a camera for one exposure at a time.

I don't think there is a correlation to quality from shooting film or digital. I think I take as much care to my craft regardless of what media I happen to be shooting. I do understand where you are coming from in regards to shooting large format though. I'm looking forward to having another more modern body of work using film and large format.
