I loved being in the darkroom and playing with contrast, and the various papers that I knew the characteristics of, dilutions of the various developers, pantyhose (for those that know what I am talking about. But hey, I like kink too!)... But what I miss the most is having the print in my hands, right out of the developer, wet and smelly, especially after a sepia tone. Having the need for tactileness is ever increasing. I'm having my revised photo above printed at my lab and it is just not the same! I have got to make some funds to get myself a really nice printer where I can do this at home again...

Thanks for the comment. I love finding solutions to problems that bug me. I knew that photo had something else in it, I just had to find it. Playing around seeing what might work, like the days of the darkroom is really therapeutic for me. I had a print made of that photo at a lab I use. Though I don't have a serious relationship with them, I do have my favorite printers there that work with me. They love printing for me because they usually don't have to do any adjustment to my prints. Today was no exception and I was thrilled to see the 6x6 inch image on an 8x10 sheet of paper. I'm all ready seeing maybe a 10x10 on 20x24 art paper, wrapped elegantly in a wooden black frame with museum board matte.
